Assorted with Rice
up!
NOTE:
This recipe is not vegan, but can be adapted.
I would advise using something akin to quorn/mycoprotein-wtv diced
"chicken" for this.
Ingredients
This serves 2 people.
-
2 Breasts of Chicken Diced.
OR 1 Pork steak Diced (serves 3 however).
OR Suitable quantity of whatever at hand.
NOTE: If vegan/vegetarian, use quorn or
include more vegetables instead to round out.
-
One Small-to-Medium Red Onion cut into strips.
-
3 Small bell peppers or half of a full-sized bell pepper.
-
(Optional) Frozen peas and sweetcorn. 1 Cup in entirety
-
3 teaspoons of Hoisin Sauce with soy sauce + some amount of water and
optionally small amount of cornstarch
ORJar of Satay and coconut milk.
ORWhatever works, Cantonese sauce, Teriyaki, wtv.
as long as it doesnt go strange under heat, its fine. If it does
go strange under heat, then one can add it near the end instead.
-
1 serving of boil in bag rice.
OR 1 Cup of loose rice.
Preparation
NOTE:
Action one and action three
are started in a concurrent fashion.
-
Heat up wok until it is hot enough, then put to medium to medium-high.
Put oil and meat in.
-
When the meat is lightly seared, add
the suitable sauce in,
and then add in veg not long after.
-
Start the rice. Use boiling water to start at medium high.
OR boil in saucepan until it starts to boil, then
turn to medium high.
HOWEVER this affects timing, hence start 5-ish
minutes earlier, or cook the meat slower.
-
Wait until rice or meat is cooked through.
When done, if suitable, add sauce in to meat&/veg.
-
Serve.
Serving Example
This in question is a satay with naan and rice. This is with chicken and
peppers and onions.
